1. Get your host pass
- Open Host sign in / sign up and enter your email.
- Use your private email link within 15 minutes; it works once. New hosts verify the address, then add first and last name before creating a game.
- Returning hosts use the same email flow. Invited hosts can also use their email and single-use invitation code. Keep private links and codes to yourself.
2. Shape the night
Create one active game at a time. Choose the categories available in the game, the difficulty mix, and a question style for your audience.
Use open-ended questions, four-option multiple choice, or a mix by difficulty tier. These use the same library; multiple choice needs a complete, approved option set.
Choose whether arrivals wait for the next round or can request mid-round admission. Captains can be none, automatic, or manual. Tailor these defaults when planning a round.
3. Set the mood
Choose from 28 player/display themes, including Miami Beach, NYC, London, Paris, Gay Pride, Patriotic America, Winter Wonderland, Cotton Candy, Pink Fun, Midnight Mystery, Stars and Space, and Fun Fish and Ocean, alongside the original favorites. Themes change the look, not scoring.
Your dashboard appearance is separate from the game’s player/display theme. Keep adult categories and After Dark for an audience aged 18 and over.
4. Bring in the crowd and screens
Open Set up display on a TV or another browser. In your host dashboard choose Link display, then scan that screen’s pairing QR or enter its six-digit pairing code. The TV does not need a host sign-in.
The linked screen shows the separate player QR, game code, and player PIN. On supported mobile browsers, Share game link opens your device’s sharing options. If the link can’t include the PIN, players will need the current player PIN from you.
Link multiple displays, give them nicknames, check approximate locations and link times, and disconnect them individually. Use the six-digit pairing code for a remote screen.
5. Take the host seat
- Plan eligible questions from your selected categories. Reorder the queue, remove a question, or use Play next.
- Create an individual or team round. Publish teams for players to join when needed, then start the round.
- Choose Start the game for the first question. Preview the answer privately, reveal it when ready, and award the correct player or team.
- Use Nobody got it when nobody earns a point. The answer stays visible until you move on.
- Pause for breaks using Pause game beside the question controls. Resume when the room is ready.
- Open Players to see the roster. Remove a player when needed; use the separate Removed players section to readmit them with their saved points. Readmitting does not put them back on their open-round team. If they return to a team during play, the late winner bonus (+1) applies.
- Review and finalize rounds yourself, then end the game for final results and to release paired displays.
A good host makes a good game
Agree on how answers are given, accepted answer variants, and outside help before you begin. Tell the room if adult content is selected.
Questions are reviewed, but mistakes can happen. Resolve disputes consistently and report factual issues with the category and question wording.
