For players
Do I need an account or an app?
No. Players join in a browser with a game link or the code and four-digit PIN, then enter a name or nickname.
How do I submit an answer?
You don’t, at least not in Lulu. Answer out loud, on paper, or however your host says. Lulu shows the question and any answer options, but doesn’t collect or grade answers. The host awards the points.
Can I rejoin without losing my score?
Use the same browser and device with cookies intact. A different browser/device or cleared cookies may create a new registration; ask the host for help.
Why am I waiting?
The host’s policy may hold arrivals until the next round or require admission. Waiting players cannot see the active question or answer.
Are points saved forever?
No. Points belong to this game. There is no lifetime leaderboard.
For hosts
Can anyone host?
Yes, while public sign-up is open and capacity is available. Verify your email and complete your first and last name. The owner can pause new sign-ups or suspend/revoke access.
What about my invitation?
Use your invited email and code, or request an email link. Invitation codes and sign-in links are single-use and expire after 15 minutes.
Can I host several live games?
Each host has one active game at a time. It can contain multiple rounds and linked displays.
Can I choose topics and difficulty?
Yes. Select game categories, a difficulty mix, and question styles.
Are there two question banks?
No. Open-ended and multiple-choice modes share questions. Multiple choice needs a reviewed four-option set, so not every question supports it.
Does an odd question count prevent ties?
No. Nobody scoring or multiple teams can still leave a tie. Use extra random or selected deciders and finalize manually.
Screens, privacy, and support
Can we play in different cities?
Yes. Pair displays in each place using their pairing codes, and have players join the same game. Arrange your own voice/video call to hear the host and give answers.
Do I sign in on the TV?
No. Open Set up display, then pair it from the host dashboard by QR or six-digit pairing code. When the game ends, it returns to pairing.
Do we need a TV?
No. Players can follow along on their own phones. A TV makes it feel more like an event, and you can link one without signing in on it.
Why collect connection information?
For security, troubleshooting, access history, and abuse prevention. Only the owner sees private player/host IP history. Hosts see approximate locations of linked displays. See Privacy for details.
How many questions are in each topic?
It varies by topic and answer format, and the library is still growing. Game setup shows current availability for your selected topics.
How do I report a bad question?
Email hello@partywithlulu.com with the category, question wording, and a reliable correction source. Don’t send private codes or sign-in links.
